Safety & COVID-19

Will medical services be available?

As a virtual race, you'll be running on your own, and no support services are provided. Participation is at your own risk.

Can I get a refund due to COVID-19 concerns?

The Ghost 'n Goblin™ 5k will not issue refunds for race entry fees, nor any other fees associated with the race. Each participant accepts that risk upon paying their entry fee. We will not offer complimentary race entries to a future race. We use all money collected for the race to develop and produce the event (including race supplies, infrastructure, and administration) and the proceeds benefit the non-profit Ohio River Road Runner's Club.

Shirts & Magnets

Do I need photo-ID to pick up my shirt & magnet?

While we do not require photo-ID to pick up your bib, our volunteers may request it as a condition of picking up your bib/shirt if they deem such actions warranted. Despite this being an unlikely circumstance, please be ready to produce identifying information if needed.

Can I pick up a shirt & magnet for someone else?

Yes! With COVID-19 concerns, we encourage those who choose in-person pickup to combine pickups as much as possible to limit the number of people who are on site. Just make sure everyone knows the arrangement to prevent any confusion!

I registered by September 13, but missed the first in-person packet pickup. What do I do?

Come to the next listed in-person pickup! We'll hold your items for you if you miss the first date.

Can I exchange my shirt for a different size?

Unfortunately, no, not this year. Logistically it just doesn't work with a virtual event.

How can I find shirt information to get the right fit?

A shirt sizing chart can be found on the home page, and photos of our volunteers modeling various sizes are on the "Virtual Shirt Fitting" tab.

What if my packet doesn't arrive by the expected date?

We'd ask for your patience - this is the first year our all-volunteer committee has had to plan for mailing packets. We've done our best to work with the vendor for a realistic timeline, but there will probably be some circumstances beyond our control. Contact us using the info at the top of this page if you've given it some time and still haven't received your items.

Raffles, results and contests

Who is eligible for raffle prizes?

Everyone who registers! There are some bulkier items that will be reserved for participants who pick up their packet in person, so that we can save on the cost of shipping. Other than that, everyone who signs up has the chance at some awesome items!

How do I enter the costume contest?

Keep an eye on your email and Facebook - we'll post options for this to be done virtually, and prizes will be mailed to the winners.

Are there any other contests?

Yes! We're coming up with a variety of categories for other prizes - the runner who lives farthest from Dayton, people who post pictures on certain days - all sorts of opportunities. Announcements will be made on social media.
